Business Analyst - Capital Markets

CHARLOTTE, NC

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across various departments, including traders, portfolio managers, operations, and IT, to gather and document business requirements for capital markets initiatives.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of current business processes, systems, and workflows to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain detailed business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications, and other project documentation.
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure business requirements are accurately translated into technical solutions.
  • Perform gap analysis and impact assessments to evaluate proposed changes and enhancements to existing systems and processes.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings with stakeholders to elicit requirements, clarify scope, and validate solutions.
  • Support the implementation and rollout of new systems and enhancements, including user acceptance testing (UAT) and post-implementation support.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices within the capital markets domain.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field. Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, CFA) preferred.
  • Proven experience (X+ years) as a Business Analyst in the capital markets industry, with a strong understanding of financial instruments, trading platforms, and market infrastructure.
  • Solid knowledge of business analysis techniques, including requirements elicitation, process modeling, and data analysis.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence) is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and provide innovative solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
